The bus was towed to my cousins shop today and we are very excited to start working on it. More coming soon!
Hello everybody. Just wanted to let you all know we are well. We are now located in Tulare, CA for the time being awaiting our bus. We received the pink slip to the bus in the mail today and now have enough money to tow it. So we will tow it, hopefully, by Wednesday. I will post pictures and video of it’s travel to Visalia.
In the mean time, we are on the prowl for work. I have an interview next week with Home Depot which looks promising. Avira is probably going to get a part time job serving at one of the many restaurants in the area. Between the two of us we should have major work done on the bus nearly immediately.
On a sad note, some of the money we were anticipating didn’t come through and may require us to go to court to get it. All I can say is that some people are really greedy and it makes us feel like our decision to cut ties and move on was probably a very good decision. We are doing our best not to let it get to us and looking forward to our future.
Sorry if you have not been able to get in touch with us during this time. Our main form on contact is an internet phone and we did not get internet until a week after being here. We do have it now so contacting us should become a bit easier. Please keep us in your prayers as we are still pretty shaken up by this major life change. Just know that we are encouraged and are watching as our dream and vision become reality right before our eyes. AMAZING!
Yesterday we met with the owner, did all the paperwork, handed over the cash and registered the vehicle in my name. We are now the proud owners of a Bristol Lodekka Double Decker Bus! DMV gave us plates and tags, we are ready to roll. Now all we have to do is make it drivable. haha.
We are soooo excited and will have it towed in the next week or so to my cousins auto restoration shop.
WooooHoooo!
We are packing. Why are we packing at 2 frickin AM? Well let me tell you!
We have to be completely out of our house by 1pm tomorrow and we have sooooo much work to do still. Why do we have so much work to do still you ask? Well let me tell you!
Because my family fell victim and caught this little bug that causes you to feel like you were under the most heavy Flu that you could have, but only for between 24 and 48 hours. So it was like the merry-go-round of the little bastard. It started with my son, then moved to my wife, then to me, then back to my wife and finally, to me again. It was nasty and really through a wrench into our move.
So here I am, packing at 2 frickin am. What a world!
Cool video about a guy who does “reverse graffiti”, where he takes the dirty tunnels and walls in San Francisco and puts his art on them by washing them. Love the concept and the message.
Oh yeah, I started a new category called “Stuff Karl Likes” and I am sure there is a “Stuff Avira Likes” coming soon.
A few days ago, I wouldn’t believe it if you told me it would be this way. Here I am looking around, and realizing, we don’t own much of anything. The realization of years of accumulated material wealth, gone. It is honestly liberating. Once the last few items go, there is nothing holding us in place. We have no need to maintain rent, or utilities or anything. This is the first time I have felt this since I was like 19 years old. It is kinda scary in the sense that I would hate to have to work to build up things again, but that is not our plan so I am not worried. Now, we work toward one goal and one goal alone, to get a home with wheels. There is no looking back now. No way to hit rewind or ask for our stuff back. Nothing in the way to make us change our mind. If everything pans out next week with our bus, we are only a few months away from a dream/vision come true!
