About the Wenns
Author: KarlAvira Wenn- A Mommy, A singer, A lover of life and people.
Avira is originally from Thousand Oaks, CA. She moved to Mt. Shasta and lived their for many years before moving in with her husband to-be in Redding. After being together for a couple of years she was excited to learn she and Karl were pregnant. During the pregnancy she moved to the central coast of California (Atascadero, Pismo Beach, Cambria) living there for nearly 8 years before moving to Lemon Cove, CA to pursue a travelling lifestyle. Avira loves doing crafts, she is learning guitar, is a talented singer, loves to dance and spends as much time outside in nature as possible. She is working toward being a doula and a midwife. She has a great love for the experience women go through during labor and wants to be there to make it as beautiful of a experience as it can be.
Avira means ‘self revealing one’ and once you meet her, you know that the name is very fitting.
Eventually she will update this to be more detailed and personal.
Karl Wenn- Silly, Crazy, Dancer, Music Lover, Nature Lover, Artist and Computer Geek.
I grew up in Visalia, CA area before leaving my senior year to move to the middle of Shasta Forest. Spent several years in Northern California before meeting Avira and moving to the Central Coast prior to the birth of my son. I love my wife and children more than anything. After them I love my bus, macbook pro, iphone, turntables and studio gear in that order, haha. =) My favorite food is Thai food. My favorite music is ambient, house music, some hiphop, and select songs in nearly any genre. I call myself a techno-hippy for lack of a better title. My views and lifestyle tend to confuse people. So if you need to boil me down, here is a definition from the Urban dictionary regarding a techno hippy as
-a computer nerd with hippy ideals
- technohippies are a breed of their own. they are not malacious, but only interested in the way things work. usually not the “l33test”, (in terms of knowledge of a specific area), but they have a broad wisdom of many different technologies. the favored music of the technohippy consists of (but is not limited to): post-rock, electronica, ambience, eccentric cultural music, and any other obscure music. technohippies are often very philosophical, but are open to new ideas (as long as they are somewhat intelligent). ignorance and hatred is looked down upon by thetechnohippy, and some may even be a bit cynical. all in all, atechnohippy is a philisophically-open eccentric geek
I have to agree for the most part. =) I think it is a pretty fair description of me but then again, I do not like to be put into boxes because I don’t fit in them well.
Elijah Wenn- Homeschooled lover of all things mechanical (planes, trains, cars, etc), Silly, Fun Loving, emotional, sweet and hyper.
Elijah is 8 years old and spends much of his time in exciting imaginary worlds that he creates. It is not uncommon to see him racing around pretending he is a race car or flying a space ship. Despite his parents working tirelessly to keep gun play out of his life, he seems to be very attracted to them making them out of everything from legos to sticks. He loves going on ‘adventures’ in nature and has hiked a 2 mile trail up a steep hill and made it all on his own at the age 3. He is usually dirty or on the way to being dirty as one of his favorite things is to play cars in the dirt. He is always acknowledged as being full of enthusiasm. It is not rare to hear Elijah scream at the top of his lungs with excitment. So, as you can imagine, holidays can be pretty loud. He LOVES nature and is very very excited about our upcoming “bus adventure”.
On a recent note, Elijah has learned to ride his bike and we are SOOOOOOO Proud of him!
Kaiya Wenn- Sensitive, Loving, Relating, Homeschooled lover of all things pretty. A true girly girl.
A talkative 3 year old who loves pink things, shiny things, accessories and eating. You will be amazed the amount of food this little body can eat. Kaiya always stops to smell the flowers, pick the dandelions and share them with others. She loves princesses, fairies and her daddy. She is definately a daddies girl. She also requires a lot of sleep or watch out, the emotions will come out and it can get rough. She has a talent for inventing songs out of the blue about nearly anything that could be happening around her. Her favorite song she created is called “Christmas wonderland” and the lyrics are quite simple. “It’s Christmas, It’s Christmas, It’s a Christmas wonderland”. To hear her sweet voice singing it is nothing that can be described. It is truely one of the most beautiful things you can hear.
